Introduction to Color Work Class - Coffee Coozie
Join us and instructor Sarah Pounds on Sunday, February 23, 1-4 pm at Son's Chapel for an introduction to color work!
We will be knitting a coffee coozie in the round using two colors.
The class will be capped at 8 people! You will need to sign up by Friday, February 7 and pick up your kits during our Yarn Swap at Son's Chapel on Saturday or Sunday, February 8 or 9. To get the most out of our class time, we ask that you complete the single-color ribbing (more information in the pattern) BEFORE the class starts on Sunday, February 23 at 1 pm.
You will learn:
1) Chart Reading
2) Planning for color work/ color choice
3) Float Tension
4) Catching Floats
5) Carrying up a color vs cutting and joining later
The class price includes all yarn, three hours of instruction, and a pattern. Please bring your own needles. If you need to purchase needles you can do so online and get 30% off.
Recommended Needles: size US 4 and US 6 in your preferred method for small circumference (magic loop, two circulars, shorties, or DPNs); however, shorties are recommended in that you will avoid ladders.
This class is intended for knitters who are comfortable knitting, purling, and knitting in the round. No prior color work knowledge needed!
